PRAYER MINISTRY

I have had the wonderful privilege of being a missionary for over 50 years. During that time, one of my greatest experiences was when my husband Charlie and I were led by the Lord to found BMDMI.

Throughout the years, I have worked in many areas of ministry, but about 10 years ago, the Lord spoke to me about beginning a daily ministry of prayer. Presently, I spend several hours each day in Bible study and prayer, taking the names of more than 500 people along with their prayer requests before the Lord. I also pray for my family, for my friends, for our missionaries and their families, and for everyone associated with the ministries of BMDMI in the US, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Nepal. I also pray for the sick, for those who are terminally ill, for the hurting, for the grieving, and for anyone who asks that their names be added to my prayer list.

When I began my prayer ministry, I made two promises to the Lord. First, I would from time to time let everyone on my prayer list know that I was praying for them each and every day. I do this because if I pray for them, but do not let them know, they will not be encouraged by the assurance that I am faithful in praying for them. Secondly, because I firmly believe that persistence in prayer is extremely important, I faithfully pray for everyone on my prayer list each and every day.

There is an account in the Bible about a woman who went before an uncaring judge with an urgent request, but the judge denied her request. However, this did not stop the lady, and she returned to the judge time and time again with the same request. Finally, the judge was so frustrated with her constant interruptions in his court that he granted her request even though he did not want to -- all because of her persistence. Likewise, persistence in prayer is extremely important because it obeys God’s Word: “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV)

Would you like to add your name to my prayer list? If so, please email me at carolynherringtonblog@gmail.com with the Subject line "Prayer Ministry: Your Name", and you can share with me your personal prayer request.

In turn, I promise to partner with you and pray for you and your prayer request on a daily basis, for we have been told in God’s Word to “pray one for another [...] The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16 KJV)

Thank you, in advance, for allowing me the honor of praying for you!
